Since 2004, Andrew has held the post of Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management at the Scottish Parliament where he reports directly to the Clerk/Chief Executive and the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body on all matters of governance, audit, risk and assurance. He is also Audit Adviser to the Scottish Commission for Public Audit – a statutory body of MSP’s that considers and recommends Audit Scotland’s budget proposals to Parliament. Both these roles provide Andrew with a unique insight into the public audit framework in Scotland within a dynamic and high profile environment.
Prior to joining the Scottish Parliament, Andrew was an audit manager within the Government and Public Services Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP having joined the Scottish practice as a graduate trainee in 1996. He worked for clients across a range of sectors (including Central and Local Government, Health, Education and Housing) providing a range of advisory and assurance services in both an external and internally focussed capacity.
