The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations' Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.
At its heart are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These objectives recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change.
Our Commitment
At UWS, we are committed to making a positive environmental impact in tandem with addressing the wider United Nations SDGs. UWS has therefore committed to placing SDGs at the heart of its Strategy 2025. Our vision is for UWS to be among the global leaders of excellent, relevant, and purposeful research aligned with the SDGs and to become a leader in climate change and resilience through research and enterprise activity.
