With world-class venues like the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and the SSE Hydro, it’s no wonder the city’s been named one of the top 10 sporting cities in the world. The 2014 Commonwealth Games have put Glasgow’s sporting venues on the map, for all to enjoy.
On top of the Commonwealth Games the city have recently hosted the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in 2015, the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in 2016, the TOTAL BWF Badminton World Championships in 2017, the inaugural European Championships in 2018 and in 2019 hosted the European Indoor Athletics Champions and the Guinness Pro14 Final.

Getting here
Glasgow is located in West Central Scotland. It’s the largest city in Scotland and is extremely well served by transport links, including three international airports (Glasgow International Airport only 9 miles away and both Glasgow Prestwick and Edinburgh International Airport less than 40 miles of the city centre) and all airports are only an hour’s flight from London airports.
Getting to Glasgow couldn't be easier - the city is served by three international airports, it's well connected by train from across the UK, it's easily accessible by Scotland's extensive road network and travelling by sea is made simple by the ferry connections.
