Campus tours

If your programme has booked a tour, you will be shown around campus by an experienced Student Buddy following your induction. This is a great chance to ask any questions you may have directly to a student who has been where you are!

Blue Monday

Get ready for Blue Monday on Monday 20^th January! Join us at Paisley Campus from 12noon to 2pm in The Hub for an engaging series of interactive stalls that cover exciting health and wellbeing topics, packed with games and challenges. Don't miss the chance to speak with our wellbeing team about the Healthy Living Campaign, and the library team about their inspiring "Reading for Wellbeing" books. Discover valuable insights from our sustainability and travel team about their initiatives like "Think, Move, Breathe" and "Not Far? Leave the Car."

You can also join the fun with our Race Your Mate Challenge! Experience some friendly competition on stationary bikes provided by the gym team. Plus, take advantage of free blood pressure checks. This is an event you won't want to miss—come and boost your well-being with us!

Student Creative Writing Competition

This is open to all new UWS students starting in January 2025. We invite you to submit a piece of poetry or prose you have written on the theme of ‘New Beginnings’. The competition will launch 13th January and close on 10th February 2025.

Entries will be considered by our expert Library staff and winners will receive prizes and the chance to share their poetry. See our Creative Writing - Library Guides at University of the West of Scotland.

Vaccinations

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will have a team of Vaccinators available to students at University of the West of Scotland, Paisley campus on Wednesday 22nd January, to offer students who have not previously been vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Meningitis ACWY and HPV to receive their vaccination. It is really important to protect yourself and your fellow students. Infectious diseases such as Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Meningitis can spread easily and can cause serious illness - so please protect yourself and others.

School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences networking event

Are you ready to kick off your journey at UWS? If you’re joining us for the School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences welcome session on Friday 24^th January at Paisley Campus we are eager to greet you! Join us for an exciting networking event in the upper atrium from 12.30pm till 1.30pm, where interactive stalls and games await.

This is your chance to connect with internal support teams and meet fellow students! You’ll have the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Innovation team, the library, and student services. Plus, don’t miss your chance to meet your student buddies and your Early Intervention Specialist, who are here to help you navigate your first few months at university. As part of our January Keep Warm initiative, you can also participate in our spin-the-wheel competition to win a complimentary tea or coffee from the University cafeteria or café.
