About
The Team UWS American Football team, known as “The Pyros” is a great example of an opportunity to try a new activity.
Many students have come along to a Pyros training session as a beginner and ended up with a new skill set and the chance to have represented Team UWS within the competitive squad.
With a team of coaches attached to the club to support and run full training sessions, everyone is welcome to join and train. Off the pitch, the team has been known to organise a busy social calendar, with the highlight of this being the annual Superbowl Party.
Training details
- Wednesday: 6pm to 8pm, Scotstoun
- Sunday: 12noon to 2pm, Glasgow Green
Competitions
The Pyros compete in the BUCS leagues facing off against Scotland's top university gridiron teams in BUCS Division 1. The team also have strong links to a number of local American Football clubs should students wish to play throughout the domestic club season.

How to join
Sign up for American Football and head down to your first training session. All team members will be required to purchase a Team UWS membership that you can buy from our Online Store.
