KAREN FOUND HER PLACE AT UWS - FIND YOURS!
Mum of two, Karen, wanted to prove that she could achieve more and be a role model for her kids. She completed a SWAP course, then an HND at college as her route into the UWS criminal justice and forensic science degree. Karen wants to work in an investigative role in policing when she graduates.
My course gives me so many levels of experience that will set me up for my future. I've always told my children to do the best you can. So, I thought, I want to show them that I can be the proof that if you work hard, no matter what age you are, you can do it. My kids are 14 and 11 and they're proud of their mum going to university.
I would encourage everyone out there who wants to start education again to go for it! I'm a good example of someone who doubted themselves and yet here I am, as a mature student, having completed a full year at university, and passed everything.
