Sony Thomas advanced his career in computer systems thanks to the University’s accredited, MSc Advanced Computer Systems Development.
Sony Thomas, 24, who graduated the University last year, works as Software Test Engineer for Maveric Systems.
Sony, who was a recipient of a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship 2019-2020, decided to study at UWS due to the career-focused nature of its programmes.
He said: “I am a Computer science graduate and quickly decided I wanted to undertake a Masters in Advanced Computer Systems Development. I chose UWS as I believed, this course would help me advance my computing engineering knowledge and gain industry-relevant skills needed for a successful career. And I wasn’t disappointed.
“Due to the covid-19, I had to do my MSc project remotely, without using the lab facilities at UWS. This was a bit challenging and I overcome this thanks to the continuous support from my supervisor and moderator. I learned new technologies during my project and have successfully completed my MSc degree with high marks.”
Sony wasn’t just delighted with his course, he also thought the overall students experience at UWS is second to none.
He said: “My life at UWS was an amazing experience. There are many factors that make UWS unique from other universities around the globe. Some of them are good community atmosphere, extra-curricular activities provided by student’s union, environment around university, and high-quality facilities.”
