Former University of the West of Scotland international student, Steve Wilson has advanced his career thanks to the University’s accredited MSc Quality Management.
Steve, 26, who is from India, graduated from UWS in November. After completing the course, Steve managed to secure an exciting role as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Microchip Technology, based in Heilbronn, Germany.
Steve decided to study at UWS due to the career-focused nature of its Quality Management programme and the excellent support it provides to international students.
He said: “One of the reasons I chose UWS was because it goes that extra mile to provide industry relevant teaching and excellent student support services. I wanted to study Quality Management at UWS as I was keen to deepen my theoretical and practical understanding of quality systems and further enhance my knowledge on quality techniques such as Lean Six Sigma.
“At first it can be challenging being an international student but everyone at UWS made me quickly feel at home and helped me to integrate into life at the University.
“UWS is a truly international university. Thanks to UWS, I now have friends for life from different parts of the world. It was an amazing learning experience.”
The University’s MSc Quality Management course sees students examine quality management and other continuous improvement approaches relevant to industry and apply the techniques to all industrial and business sectors from service to manufacturing.
Steve said: “UWS has helped me to strengthen my theoretical and practical understanding of the quality management domain. I was able to develop my network with industry and academic leaders in my field of expertise.”
The University’s MSc Quality Management course, which is accredited by the Chartered Quality Institute, addresses strategic quality and leadership issues focused on achieving customer satisfaction.
