Hey there, UWS money savers! It's that time of year again - National Student Money Week 2025 is here, and we're all about helping you make the most of your money. Whether you're a current student or thinking about joining UWS, we've got some tips to help you save those precious pennies.
Let's dive in!
Budget like a boss
Creating a budget might sound daunting, but it's a game-changer. Start by listing your income (student loans, part-time job, etc.) and your expenses (rent, groceries, social activities). Remember, a little planning goes a long way! We’ve got you covered when it comes to budgeting and planning – check out our guides.
Cook at home
Eating out can quickly drain your wallet. Instead, try cooking at home. Not only is it cheaper, but it's also healthier. Plan your meals for the week, make a shopping list, and stick to it. Check out our guide on saving money when it comes to food for some delicious and budget-friendly recipes.
Take advantage of student discounts
Being a student has its perks! From travel to tech, many businesses offer discounts to students. Always carry your student ID and ask if there's a student discount available. Apps like UNiDAYS and Student Beans are great for finding the latest deals.
Share and save
Living with roommates? Share the cost of household items like cleaning supplies and groceries. Bulk buying can save you money, and it's more eco-friendly too. Plus, it's a great way to bond with your housemates!
Use campus resources
UWS offers a wealth of resources to help you manage your money. From financial advice to workshops on budgeting, make sure to take advantage!
