Food Forty Six, Paisley
With enough vegan and vegetarian options to shake your fist at, Food Forty Six is a hidden gem on Paisley High Street. From salad bowls to hearty soups and tasty ciabattas, Food Forty Six is trendy with a capital ‘T’. Specialising in breakfasts and brunches, their food is the kind that nourishes the mind, stomach and soul. Also run, don’t walk, for their pumpkin lattes. Swoon. Then swoon some more.
Vegan Earth, Ayr
Vegan Earth is Ayrshire’s first 100% plant-based café. Whilst they may be gluten-free, egg-free and milk-free, their food is most definitely not taste-free. Vegan Earth has everything to tickle a vegan’s fancy, including buddha bowls, beetroot burgers and baked sweet potatoes. Just don’t get us started on their cakes. Because we’ll start to drool. And, well, that’s rude. But when you taste their Carrot and Pistachio gâteau, you’ll know exactly what we mean. Queue drooling. Soz.
Ronzio Coffeehouse, Hamilton
Whether you’re craving a cosy coffee, a hearty dinner or something to satisfy that oh-so-sweet tooth, Ronzio Hamilton have it all. Their Vegan Stack is something to behold. It’s another thing to taste. And their home-baked goods are divine. From fresh crepes to the Vegan Biscoff Millionaire bars, life sure is sweet at Ronzio in Hamilton.
Pumpernickel, Dumfries
Pumpernickel is a family-run café serving the most authentic vegan and vegetarian food. Their name alone should be enough to tempt you through their doors. If you need more convincing, look no further than their vegan sticky toffee pudding. Oh. My. Days. For the savoury connoisseurs out there, head straight for their tofu curry. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200. It bursts with the most heavenly of flavours. De-lish!
