Disability

If you have a disability, a long-standing medical condition or a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia, the Disability Service can help you. Our advisers work with you to develop the right support for lectures, individual study and assessments. Support is flexible. It can be adapted to the changing demands of your course or individual circumstances. If you’re a student or a prospective student, get in touch as early as possible to start the process of arranging personalised support.

Counselling

If any issues are affecting your emotional wellbeing, the counselling service at UWS can help. Our free, confidential service is available to all UWS students. The counselling team creates a safe, affirming and welcoming environment that embraces human diversity. It’s important to us to provide equality of services and care to everyone, regardless of age, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion or belief.

Multifaith chaplaincy

UWS welcomes and celebrates people of all faiths and none. Whatever your beliefs, you’ll find space for reflection on campus and personal support from the multifaith chaplaincy team. Each Scottish campus has a ‘space of contemplation’. Enrolled students and staff are welcome to use these rooms to pray, meditate, reflect or just take a break from daily pressures.
